Students: Come and meet celebrity and noted
and learn about their writing journey

Fernandina Beach Middle School will host two celebrity authors:


Tween students will hear from three noted authors, including Susan Viau, author of Samantha Hansen has Rocks in her Head; Eileen Meyer, author of The Superlative A. Lincoln; and Stacy Horan, author of Inland


Teen students will meet Margot Lee Shetterly, a Hampton, Virginia native, University of Virginia graduate, entrepreneur, and intrepid traveler who spent 11 years living in Mexico. Her book, Hidden Figures, tells the story of four female African American mathematicians at NASA, known as “colored computers,” and how they overcame gender and racial barriers to succeed in a highly challenging STEM-based career.

In addition, they’ll hear from three noted authors: K.I. Knight, author of Fate/Freedom; Jana Laiz, author of Weeping Under This Same Moon; and Evelyn Holingue, author of All the Mountains We Can Climb. 


At Callahan Middle School, students will meet four noted authors covering a range of genres. They include Annette Laing, author of Look Ahead, Look Back; Susan Diamond Riley, author of The Sea Island's Secret; Andrea Patten, author of The Inner Critic Advantage; and Will Andrews, author of Reilly’s Walk.
