I’m a southern woman who learned to tell stories at an early age. We were taught to ‘nevah’ let the conversation lag and I obeyed. The memoir, A Red Door is a real story, a true one that begged to be told for a number of reasons; the AIDS epidemic, the fear and shame, yet, also the power of love and caring.
A few years ago, l retired from a large southeastern university and moved to the Georgia coast where I celebrate the quickness of life on a daily basis and am filled with gratitude.

I recently had a Tiny Modern Love piece and podcast, Old never Happened published in The NY Times and am working on another story since I need to keep the conversation going.
