THE MANATEE DID IT, book one in the Southern Beach Mysteries series, released early in 2020. Book six, THE FLAMINGO DID IT, releases Christmas 2023. More books will be coming in this cozy mystery series set on the fictional (but very recognizable to anyone who’s ever been to Amelia Island) Sophia Island.
Her first Southern Fiction series is set in the small town of Chancey, Georgia beginning with NEXT STOP, CHANCEY. The eleventh book in the series releases August 15, 2023. Another 2-book series, BACKWATER, is set off the coast of North Florida.
Kay’s books focus on people finding themselves in new environments having to navigate finding friends, managing their families, and figuring out what they want to be when they grow up! Place plays an important part in her books, as it does with most Southern authors. She explains, “Whether it’s the mountains of North Georgia or the coast of North Florida, where we are frames our days and guides our lives. Plus, living in the South just helps make everything funnier. I really like to laugh.”
