William E Schepens was born in Montana and raised in Mississippi. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1970 and spent 26 years in the Air Force primarily as a pilot, retiring as a Colonel in 1996. In his second career, he served as a Director, Business Development for The Boeing Company marketing the C-17 military cargo aircraft and winning the KC-46 tanker contract. He and his wife of 52 years live in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and have three adult children and seven grandkids.
