After years of reading rhyming books to her boys and inspired by her beloved tabbies, animal advocate Andrea Lane wrote "Abby the Crabby Tabby Discovers Gratitude." Abby is a spoiled, crabby cat that wants everything but appreciates nothing. This humorous, rhyming picture book merges Lane’s value of gratitude with her passion for all animals.

Lane helps pet shelters find nice forever homes like Abby’s by donating a percentage of all book sales to a different animal nonprofit each month. Each is highlighted on her website https://abbythecrabbytabby.com/.

Lane is a practicing vegan who worked as a professional advocate for animal protection in public policy, and continues to support organizations that advocate for the humane treatment and protection of all animals, from cats to cows. Lane is also a certified Reiki master and credits Reiki with changing her life. Expressing gratitude for all you have is one of the principles of Reiki, a Japanese form of energy healing.

"Abby the Crabby Tabby Discovers Gratitude" has received many honors, including The Mom’s Choice Awards® Gold Award, their highest honor, which rated it as “among the best in family-friendly media, products and services.” The book also won straight A’s from Booklife Reviews and Five Stars from Readers’ Favorite.

Abby will learn a new lesson in Lane’s next book, "Abby the Crabby Tabby Discovers the Joy of Sharing", due out next year.

Lane has a bachelor’s in political science from Georgia State University and a JD from Emory Law School. She lives in Atlanta where she writes whenever she can grab the time from her office (a.k.a. her bed.) She is grateful for the life she shares each day with her husband, two children who love to read, and three entertaining tabbies.
