Book Title:

Throwaway Boy

Author Bio:

I never made up my mind what I wanted to do for a living, but I always knew I wanted to experience the world. I have one undergraduate degree in English Literature and another in Mechanical Engineering, followed by a graduate degree in Marketing. I’ve been a teacher, a Peace Corps volunteer, an engineer, a sales manager, a business founder & executive, a Peace Corps country director and a Senior Director for a technology non-profit. Today, I indulge my love of storytelling, of music and of family. My days are spent writing, researching, learning how to improve my craft and living large in my community.

I've lived in five countries other than the United States and worked in another 32. I think the exploration of new cultures, particularly through language and ritual, casts light on our own: what do we value and why? How do we prioritize our finite allotment of time? How do we participate in community? What does privacy mean? What is the nature of family?

I self-published my first novel, The Siren of Good Intentions. It was the story I had to complete before any others and tells a rich and complex adventure romance based on a year of my life, set in West Africa set in 1978. It was a semi-finalist for the Royal Palm Literary Award in 2020

My second book, published by Taylor and Seale Publishing is a mystery inspired by actual events. It takes place in St Augustine, Florida, and north central Georgia.
