Born in Georgia in 1983, J.M. Lanham spent summers in the foothills of the Appalachians surrounded by lots of woods, little access to power, and stacks of paperbacks to explore. Some of his influences include Michael Crichton, Stephen King, John Grisham, Philip K. Dick, H.G. Wells, Robert Ludlum, and Isaac Asimov, among many others.

Many of Lanham's fans have compared the R.E.M. trilogy to techno-thrillers written by Crichton, Douglas Richards, Dean Koontz, Blake Crouch, Douglas Preston, and Lincoln Child.

Lanham now lives in Yulee, Florida with his wife and two sons, and works as a professional copywriter and real estate advisor. When he's not working for his wonderful clients or hashing out his latest thriller he can usually be found within a mile or two of the beach.
